The Employer Reference Group (ERG) is made up of CNO representatives and nurse employers from across Ontario who share information and collaborate on relevant nursing regulatory issues. ERG members bring unique perspectives that reflect the diversity of the nursing profession, practice settings and populations of the health care system in Ontario.
The main objectives of ERG are to:
- discuss and collaborate on issues related to patient safety and safe nursing practice
- provide opportunities for education, discussion and consultation about regulatory issues and accountability
- discuss ways to collaborate on regulatory work, practice initiatives and capacity building in the health care system
- understand the impact of policy decisions, health care trends and issues
- propose recommendations on CNO’s regulatory work
The group meets virtually four times per year (although additional meetings may be added if needed).
