A therapeutic nurse-client relationship is essential to a client’s health and well-being and is grounded in trust, respect and empathy.
Nurses establish and maintain this relationship by using their knowledge, skill and judgment, as well as demonstrating safe and compassionate care. Clients’ needs, preferences and best interests must remain the focus of the therapeutic nurse-client relationship.
