Documentation practice standard webcast

This webcast is based on CNO’s Documentation practice standard. It applies to all nurses in all roles in all practice settings as of February 1, 2026. Nursing documentation is an important component of nursing practice and the interprofessional documentation in the client’s health record. Documentation, whether paper, electronic, audio or visual is used to monitor a client’s progress and communicate with other care providers. It also reflects the nursing care that is provided to a client.

Documentation in long-term care webcast

This is a recording of a webinar hosted on June 3, 2026 by CNO in partnership with the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO). It brings together CNO’s regulatory perspective and RNAO’s best practice guidelines to explore how nursing documentation accountabilities are applied in Long-Term Care. Use the case scenarios to reflect on how your documentation plays a critical role in supporting clinical reasoning and defensible practice.
