CNO partners with Ministry of Health to increase health care resources in Ontario

The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is partnering with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to help identify individuals to take on unregulated health care roles. This is in response to the growing need for human health care resources across the province in response to COVID-19.

CNO will contact applicants indicating that we are assisting the Ministry to help identify individuals who can help support the system by working in unregulated health care roles. Applicants are individuals currently in the process of completing their registration requirements to practice nursing in Ontario.

“Reaching out to applicants is one way we can support the broader health care system and protect the public,” says Anne Marie Shin, Director of Professional Practice. “Our applicants are a key group that can fill unregulated health care roles as they continue their journey to becoming registered practicing nurses.”

Unregulated care providers help maintain safe and secure health care environments for the public.  Individuals interested in this opportunity can contact the Ministry of Health.
