2016 mid-year NCLEX-RN results: Ontario graduates applying to CNO
January 1 – June 30, 2016
The following tables show the exam results of College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) applicants who wrote the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) for the first time during the first six months of 2016. Full-year first-time write pass rates for 2012–2015 are included for comparison.
Between January 1 and June 30, 2016, 1,515 Ontario-educated CNO applicants wrote the NCLEX-RN for the first time. Of these, 82.7% passed on their first write. This pass rate is 13.3 percentage points higher than the rate for 2015. The 2015 first time pass rate for the entire year was 69.4%.
The number of Ontario-educated first-time exam writers so far in 2016 (up to June 30) is 40% of the total number of first-time writers in 2015. More applicants are still due to graduate and will write the exam for the first time later in 2016.
