If you obtained your nursing education outside of Canada, your credentials need to be verified by one of CNO’s approved educational credential assessment (ECA) service providers. CNO must receive the education assessment report that confirms your education credential and the corresponding educational documents before you apply to CNO.

Starting April 1, you have the option of getting your credentials verified by one of the following ECA service providers:

• National Nursing Assessment Services (NNAS)
• World Education Service (WES) – WES Instructions for CNO Applicants
• International Credential Assessment Service of Canada (ICAS) - ICAS homepage

If you have already had an educational credential assessment with one of these ECA service providers prior to April 1, 2025, please review the instructions on each provider's webpage.

IMPORTANT: Once you receive confirmation from your ECA service provider that your information has been sent to CNO, you may start your application with CNO.
