I am a nurse in independent practice who has a contract to provide nursing services to residents of a long-term-care home. Do I need to keep a record of my documentation in my personal files in addition to what I record in the organization’s documentation system?
Yes, when providing independent nursing services to clients within an organization you are required to maintain a personal copy of your documentation. See the Independent Practice guideline for more information.
