Please complete and return the Examination Application (CNPE E-1 Form) with payment by the deadline indicated below. Note that this exam is paper-based.

The examination will be conducted on the dates above at the centres indicated by an “X” in the table below. When submitting your application, provide a first and second choice of writing centre. Applicants will be assigned a writing centre on a first come first served basis. A request to transfer from one writing centre to another will be considered if received at least 30 days before the examination date. To write the examination in another province, submit the request in writing along with your application.

Your application and examination fee must be received by the College of Nurses of Ontario before or on the deadline specified, regardless of the postmark. Please allow at least five days for your mailed payment to reach the College by the due date.

Special accommodations

Candidates with a disability that require special arrangements for writing the exam should contact the College of Nurses at least 90 days before the examination.

Identification cards / Photo identification

You will receive an identification card that will admit you to the examination room. If you have not received this card two weeks before the examination date, notify the College’s Customer Service Centre.

You must bring your identification card and another piece of ID that includes both your picture and signature for admission to the examination. Acceptable forms of identification are: a valid passport, a driver's licence, a Canadian citizenship card or a student identification card. If you do not have one of these documents, a recent photograph bearing your notarized signature will be accepted.

 

Results

Examination results will be mailed six weeks after the examination under the name and to the permanent address you gave on your examination application form. Results are not released over the telephone.

Name/Address changes

Notify the College promptly of any change of address to make sure you receive your ID card and examination result. A request for a name change must be accompanied by a legal document, such as a marriage certificate.
