Nurse Registration Examinations

[français]

Successful completion of the examination is one of the requirements for eligibility for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. The exam measures the competencies required of nurses beginning to practise.

The Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE) includes approximately 300 multiple choice questions, while the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE) has 230 to 250 multiple choice questions.

The exams are administered over the course of a day, and are available in English and French. Examination centres are located across the province.

To be eligible to write the exam, you must first apply for assessment. To do so, please contact the College.
