Canadian Association for International Nursing (CAIN)

The Canadian Association for International Nursing (CAIN), a Canadian Nurses Association-recognized national special interest group formed in 2007, aims to encourage awareness and dialogue among nurses and other health care practitioners who are interested in global health. Bloody Easy for Nurses: Transfusion Basics

The Ontario Regional Blood Coordinating Network has developed a transfusion administration program for nursing professionals that is available at www.transfusionontario.org. Nurses can access the two-module e-learning program, which is developed specifically for health care professionals administering blood products.

Courses for asthma and COPD educators

Resptrec and Spirotrec courses are available for health care professionals who are interested in becoming asthma and COPD educators. A new course is being offered to teach health professionals how to properly perform spirometry testing. Free Training: HIV and HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)

The Ontario Network of Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Treatment Centres (SA/DVTC) is offering health care providers free online training on HIV and HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) as it relates to sexual assault. At the completion of the training modules, you will be able to assess HIV risk in people who have experienced sexual assault, recommend HIV PEP, and know when an HIV specialist should be consulted. Infectious Disease Outbreaks: Tools and Strategies for Front-line Clinicians

The University of Toronto Joint Centre for Bioethics is currently researching ethical issues that can arise during a pandemic. Weekend to End Women’s Cancers – Medical Personnel Needed

The Weekend to End Women's Cancers (formerly The Weekend to End Breast Cancer) takes place every summer. In 2010, thousands of men and women will take part in a 2-day, 60 km walk through the streets of six Canadian cities, including Ottawa and Toronto. As such, the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers will need the support of medical personnel to help ensure the safety and well-being of our dedicated walkers.
