Time to wrap up your 2015 Learning Plan

As we approach the end of the year, remember to finish your 2015 Learning Plan. Creating an annual Learning Plan based on your SMART learning goals is part of the College’s Quality Assurance (QA) Program. Your involvement in QA is a continuous requirement throughout your career as a nurse. Before you start developing new learning goals for your 2016 Learning Plan, review the goals you created for 2015.

I’m a nurse with a PhD. Can I call myself doctor?

It depends on the circumstances. Are you providing health care or not? Under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA), titles such as “doctor” or “nurse” are protected titles. This means there are restrictions about who may use these titles when providing health care to individuals.
